Welcome Miss Cox

Children in West Base 2 will welcome a new teacher to IPACA in September, Miss Cox. Miss Cox spent all of last week with us at Osprey Quay Campus meeting the children and getting to know the staff, parents and members of the community that support learning here at IPACA.

Miss Cox, who previously worked in a school in Bournemouth, likes to use her imagination and initiative when teaching in order to meet the needs of pupils who have many barriers to learning. Miss Cox believes that consistency, trust and respect are vital to managing behaviour.

In her spare time, Miss Cox has volunteered for the charity 'Kids Company' which provides children with a summer holiday who may otherwise not have that opportunity. She says that this role involved, 'having fun with the children; bringing out the best in them and providing pastoral care'.

Miss Cox looks forward to getting to know everyone better in September.

Year 5 Transition day at Royal Manor

What a fantastic day we had at Royal Manor Campus today for the Year 5 transition day.

A very big thank you to the many members of staff who welcomed us into their teaching spaces and gave us taster sessions in some of the specialist areas we will be able to use during the next academic year.

We had a great day learning about Engineering, Computer Science, Maths, Art, Drama, Archery and even some Maths and English. Phew!

Another thank you goes to all the brilliant IPACA students who made every one of us feel at home on our new campus.

Engineering Problem Solving. The towers produced were brilliant who knew you could make such tall towers with only marshmallows, spaghetti and masking tape!

Enjoying a Drama session in the Drama Studio

Computer Science in the Year 6 Base

Group art work. The finished piece will be on display in our Year 6 Base in September. We look forward to showing it off.

Archery with Mr Burton

Our Super letter art made in the Art studios.

Year 5 transition -Art

One of our afternoon sessions today has been art. We used tissue paper and stencils to produce some letter art.

Year 5 Transition Archery

This morning some pupils enjoyed an archery session with Mr Burton in the sports hall.

It was great fun having the opportunity to use the larger, specialist equipment.

Year 5 transition. Marshmallow challenge

One of our challenges this morning has been to create the tallest tower using only masking tape, marshmallows and spaghetti.

It was a tricky task but it was fun working in teams.

Year 5 transition - computer science

This morning we have been taking part in a range of activities. Some children have been exploring a range of computer science activities.

Tuesday Morning Assembly

It has been lovely to meet all our year 5s this morning.

We are starting our day with an assembly with Mr Marklew.
